Our study will examine Jesus' teaching and actions concerning the Eucharist including: a study of the connection between Old Testament sacrifices and the vocabulary Jesus used in the instituion of the Eucharist (session 2), the significance of Jesus establishing the Eucharist at Passover (session 5) and the importance of Jesus being called the lamb of God (session 3).

I'll never forget the time I was invited to a Jewish home for a Passover meal. Though the family was not very religious it was a moving experience for me. The reading of the Exodus story along with the ritual of lighting candles and passing around various foods at particular moments as the story unfolded had a sacred power to it. I felt a bond with these people that I barely knew. This ritual has power in itself and for Jesus to use this celebration to begin a new and even more significant way of remembering and celebrating makes perfect sense to me..
